If you’ve been following Margaritaville at Sea Paradise over the past few years, you’ve probably heard a wide range of opinions. But after our latest 4-day sailing, we think it’s time to take another look. Because Margaritaville at Sea Paradise dry dock changes things. We were genuinely shocked…
Our First Reaction: “Wait… WHAT?!”
The moment we stepped onboard, we headed straight into Euphoria Lounge, and honestly, we weren’t prepared for what we saw. While the ship felt familiar, this wasn’t the same space we remembered.
The lighting, the furniture, the overall vibe felt completely transformed. Brighter, more modern, and full of energy. It’s the kind of space that instantly sets the tone for your cruise. And yes, we captured our real-time reaction on video. It’s fun, it’s a little chaotic, and it’s 100% authentic to how we felt walking in.
A True Glow Up
Euphoria Lounge is just one example of the updates made during the recent Margaritaville at Sea Paradise dry dock. Across the ship, we noticed:
- Refreshed spaces with updated finishes
- New carpeting throughout (and yes, it’s very cushy)
- Completely reimagined venues like the High Tide Market
- Areas of the ship that have been taken down to the steel and rebuilt from the ground up
The ship still has its classic, easy-to-navigate layout, but now it feels cleaner, brighter, and even more special.
Why This Matters
Let’s be honest; Paradise has had a reputation. And while some of that may have been fair in the past, what we experienced on this sailing felt very different.
This wasn’t about finding flaws. It was about enjoying the ship for what it is: a fun, relaxed, incredibly affordable cruise with tons of entertainment, a great crew, and solid food. Now it comes with refreshed spaces that feel inviting and rich.
When a cruise line invests millions of dollars to completely gut spaces, taking them down to the steel, and then rebuilds them with a modern focus that cruisers have come to enjoy… You can’t help but think, “Is this ship really 30+ years old?!”

The Full Experience
This wasn’t just a quick walkthrough for us. We spent four days onboard:
- Trying out the new High Tide Market (and yes, we went back multiple times)
- Experiencing the updated drink menus and lounges
- Enjoying shows, pool time, and everything in between
- Splurging on the Ultimate Dining Chill package
And it all comes together in our Margaritaville at Sea Paradise Dry Dock video, where we walk through exactly what it’s like to sail on Paradise after dry dock.

Of course, we did get off the ship in the various ports we visited this cruise. We had the chance to visit The Bahamas, both Freeport and Nassau. In Nassau, we stopped by John Watling’s – our favorite distillery – and had an absolute great day.
While our itinerary didn’t hit Key West this time, we still had a blast during our time in Nassau.

Final Thoughts
Paradise may not have a roller coaster or a massive chandelier in the atrium. But what it does have is something just as important: A fun, laid-back atmosphere, a crew that truly delivers, and now, a fresh new look that brings it all together. And honestly? We can’t wait to go back.
