We’re sailing on Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest vessel, Norwegian Luna. As part of the entertainment lineup, the brand has added a new upcharge entertainment show called LunaTique Pop Circus. We had the chance to attend the maiden voyage and we’re answering the question, Norwegian LunaTique Review: Is the $45 Show Worth It?

We break down everything, including the cost, the experience, what surprised us, and whether we’d actually do it again.

What Is LunaTique on Norwegian Luna?

Onboard the brand-new Norwegian Luna, LunaTique Pop Circus is being positioned as a bold, immersive entertainment experience. Something that’s a step beyond your typical cruise ship theater show (especially for Norwegian Cruise Line).

The concept blends elements of circus, cabaret, and interactive storytelling, all wrapped into a high-energy production. It’s colorful, quirky, and definitely leans into that over-the-top cruise entertainment vibe.

But here’s the twist… This show isn’t included in your cruise fare.

The $45 Question

LunaTique comes with a $45 per person upcharge, which immediately puts it in a different category than most cruise entertainment.

And that raises a pretty important question: What exactly are you getting for that price?

Because on most cruise lines, entertainment is one of the biggest “included value” perks. You can show up to a production and not think twice about it. Here, you absolutely will.

A New Era: “Specialty Entertainment”

What stood out to us most isn’t just LunaTique itself; it’s what it represents. Cruise lines have already trained us to expect upcharges for:

  • Specialty dining
  • Premium experiences
  • Exclusive areas

Now, it feels like we may be entering a new phase: Specialty entertainment. And LunaTique might be one of the clearest examples yet of where things are heading. The idea of paying extra for a show isn’t entirely new, but making it a centerpiece offering on a brand-new ship like the Norwegian Luna definitely feels like a shift.

The question is: will guests see the value?

How It Compares to Other Cruise Line Experiences

We couldn’t help but compare this to something like Another Rose on Resilient Lady. That experience also comes with an upcharge, but it includes:

    • Multiple courses of food
    • Drinks
    • A fully immersive, multi-level venue
    • A production that quite literally moves around you

It feels less like watching a show, and more like stepping inside one. So naturally, going into LunaTique, our expectations were shaped by that kind of experience.

    The Reality Onboard

Without giving too much away, LunaTique delivers moments that are fun and energetic; it’s clear there’s talent on stage and a lot of effort behind the production.

But the overall experience? That’s where things get a bit more complicated.

From the venue setup to how the show is actually presented to guests, there were elements that didn’t quite align with what we expected for a paid experience. In our case, even something as simple as sightlines became an issue, which really impacted how much we could fully enjoy what was happening on stage.

And when you’re paying extra, details like that matter.

    Is It Worth It?

That’s the big question. But the answer isn’t just a simple yes or no. A lot of it comes down to:

    • What you value in a cruise experience
    • What you expect from a paid show
    • And how this compares to what you’ve experienced on other ships

We share our complete thoughts on this in the Norwegian LunaTique Review video. Rocky and I had a differing opinion, and we think that’ll likely be the case for cruisers attending the show as well.

    Final Thoughts

LunaTique is bold and leans into Norwegian’s “It’s different out here” tagline. And it’s clearly trying to push cruise entertainment in a new direction.

But whether that direction works, especially at a $45 price point, is something every cruiser is going to have to decide for themselves.

If you’re considering booking it, definitely watch our Norwegian LunaTique Review before you do.
