If you thought Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas was a game-changer, get ready for the next level. Star of the Seas, the cruise line’s second Icon Class ship, is setting the stage – literally. Get ready for an unforgettable vacation experience when she debuts in August 2025 from Port Canaveral. Royal Caribbean just unveiled new details about what guests can expect onboard, and spoiler alert: this ship is going to be epic. Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas promises show-stopping entertainment & mouthwatering dining.
From Broadway productions to elevated dining experiences, here’s everything we’re excited about on Star of the Seas.
⭐️ LOVED: A Bold New Era of Entertainment
Royal Caribbean isn’t holding back when it comes to entertainment aboard Star. The ship will feature five signature shows across stage, air, water, and ice—including the highly anticipated “Back to the Future: The Musical” straight from Broadway. We can already picture it: Marty McFly rocking out with the largest orchestra at sea and special effects only Royal Caribbean could pull off.

But that’s just the beginning. The AquaTheater is back with not one, but two high energy shows:
- “Pirates & Mermaids” – a family friendly dive into fantasy with comedy, heart, and high flying acrobatics.
- “Torque” – a turbo-charged spectacle with slackliners, swimmers, and cutting-edge visuals.
And let’s not forget “SOL” at Absolute Zero, Royal’s new ice-skating show that follows the journey of the sun, combining grace, strength, and visuals that will wow.
🍽️ LOVED: Dining Experiences That Dazzle
Star of the Seas is coming in hot with more than 40 spots to eat and drink—so basically, one for every craving.
We’re especially intrigued by:
- Lincoln Park Supper Club – an upscale, 1930s Chicago-inspired dining experience complete with live jazz and cocktails. Think vintage glam meets gourmet flair. This venue takes the place of The Empire Supper Club on sister Icon of the Seas. We love how Royal Caribbean is differentiating the two ships!
- AquaDome Market – Icon and Star will feature the “only food hall in the fleet.” It’s a casual concept that debuts three new stands featuring smoky BBQ (Pig Out BBQ), Southeast Asian flavors like pad thai (Mai Thai), and South American delights like empanadas and arepas (La Cocinita). Several food stands introduced on Icon of the Seas return to Star of the Seas including Crème de la Crepe and Feta Mediterranean.
- Celebration Table – a private dining option that’s perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, or any “just because” moment with your crew.

Of course, fan-favorites return too: Chops Grille, Izumi Hibachi & Sushi, and the expansive Windjammer buffet – the biggest in the fleet!
🎉 LOVED: Nightlife That Doesn’t Quit
From sunset to midnight (and beyond), Star of the Seas promises nonstop fun. We love that Royal Caribbean continues to lean into vibrant nightlife options like:
- Dueling Pianos
- The Attic for adults-only comedy
- Lou’s, a New Orleans-inspired lounge
- And Bubbles, a champagne bar under the stars in Central Park
There are over 20 bars and lounges onboard, so whether you’re a cocktail connoisseur or just in it for karaoke, there’s something for every vibe.
🏝️ Bonus: More Ways to Play Ashore
Every 7-night itinerary from Port Canaveral includes a stop at the incredible Perfect Day at CocoCay. But starting in December 2025, guests can also visit Royal Beach Club Paradise Island—Royal Caribbean’s brand-new beach day destination designed for relaxation, adventure, and (of course) Insta-worthy views.

Oh fun! The amount of dining options almost seems overwhelming. Wait, are the two preview sailings separate from inaugural sailings? And why are there two? haha
Believe it or not… there are actually THREE preview sailings. Royal Caribbean has promised to create memorable and unique first-time experiences on each of the previews, in addition to the inaugural. We shall see!
In terms of food, they’ve created a ship that just simply requires you to come back to try everything. Smart on their part to drive return business! We’re already starting to map out our dining plan months out. 😉 -Mark
