On Saturday, May 13, 2023 we hosted our first solo YouTube Live on land. With the Carnival Venezia inaugural sailing just over two weeks away, we took the time to talk all things Venezia and take viewer requests for what they wanted to see from the ship once we board on May 29 in Barcelona.
Preparing to Go Live
In preparation, we saved all the deck plans, early release images, screenshots from Carnival’s live press conference, and of course, the deck plans. Rocky also built us a new 60-second countdown to live – fancy! We invited people to join on each of our social channels and even posted a header on thiscruiselife.com.
As we got ready to press the “go live” button, we had no idea what to expect. Would anyone tune in? Would it last more than 15-20 minutes? Honestly, we were a little nervous!
Cruise Community Delivers
For anyone that’s followed us, you know that I’m a huge fan of the cruise community we’ve found! For our first-ever solo live on land, we were tremendously impressed by your engagement! We had dozens of chats throughout our time together, including meeting other cruisers who will be joining us on the inaugural!
While we assumed we’d spend about 30 minutes interacting and sharing everything Carnival Venezia, there was so much engagement that we went for over an hour answering questions, chatting about the new features, discussing updated room categories, and so much more.

Carnival Venezia Inaugural
Carnival Venezia is sailing from Barcelona on May 29, 2023 for her inaugural cruise. The Transatlantic voyage will sail around Spain and Portugal for a week before making the journey to her new home port in New York (with a stop in Halifax, Canada along the way).
