In 2018, we had the opportunity to sail for Mark’s milestone birthday – happy 29! – and spent 13+ hours in the Port of Curacao in the Southern Caribbean.
To make the most of our extended day in port, along with Mark’s birthday, we hired a private driver through TripAdvisor. Through a series of emails and surveys, we identified all of the things we wanted to do during our epic adventure!
If you’re looking for something to do when your cruise ship visits the land of Curacao, look no further. We’ve got you covered. During our day, we experienced 5 different excursions that we share with you in our 2-part YouTube Series.
Part 1
In Part 1, we visit Hato Caves, Playa Piskado and Playa Kenepa Grandi Beaches, and one of the most delicious restaurants we’ve ever enjoyed in Curacao: Williwood Terras – the original home of the goat burger (oh yes we did!).
Part 2
In Part 2, we cross the Queen Juliana Bridge, make a stop at a local grocery store (don’t miss Mark being a DJ!), visit Landhuis Chobolobo – the official home of Curacao Liqueur, and then stop for an exclusive rum and tapas tasting event at MosaCaña Bar & Kitchen where the owner (and rummelier) opens the restaurant just for us. We end the day spending time on the Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge.
We packed so much into our 13+ hour day that we just couldn’t fit it all in one video! Hopefully, our recaps give you ideas for your next cruise to Curacao! Oh, and if you’re traveling to Curacao for a longer period, feel free to spread these fun excursions out over a couple of days. We were *exhausted* by the end of our port day in Willemstad. But it was so worth it!
