Margaritaville at Sea Islander Full Tour

We just launched our latest video where we check in on Margaritaville at Sea Islander 6 months after her launch. But before you check that out, we sailed Margaritaville at Sea Islander for her inaugural cruise in June of 2024. At that time, we captured all of the public spaces on board! We take you from the top to bottom so you know everything about the ship. In the tour, we provide some fun places where you can get away from the crowds and enjoy some peaceful moments. We hope that you enjoy our Margaritaville at Sea Islander Full Tour!

Full Review

Once you know where everything is on board, be sure to take a moment to check out our original review from the inaugural sailing. We share everything we love, didn’t love, and hated about our experience on board. Some of the highlights from our full review, include:

  • Food we loved/didn’t love
  • Drinks and bars on board
  • All of the entertainment (live music, production shows, and more)
  • Staterooms and ship design
  • and so much more!

  1. Seriously, how much are you being paid for this review? Here’s a few things you neglected to report;
    – old fashioned 30 lb doors in balcony suites
    – a/c cannot be controlled in cabin
    – many ship surfaces uneven creating accident risk
    – ship a/c failed for hours
    – water in cabin failed for entire night
    – lighting fixtures in suites coming loose
    – metal ceiling a/c fixture fell from ceiling in casino
On the positive side, parking facilities are convenient.

    1. Hey there! I’m curious, are you referring to their older ship Paradise? This is our 4th time sailing on Islander and, thankfully, we’ve not experienced any of the issues you’ve mentioned. In fact, we had quite the opposite experience. This was our most recent stateroom. It had a self-closing balcony door, which we absolutely LOVED! For our first couple sailings, we had an interior stateroom. The staterooms are one of the areas we’re most impressed with on Islander. Margaritaville gutted the Costa Atlantica rooms and refit them – and it shows. We were able to control the A/C in both rooms just fine (in fact, it got nice and cold in our suite!)

We did have an issue that we mentioned in our first review from the inaugural the first night where the toilets didn’t flush for a couple hours as they reset the system. Thankfully, we didn’t experience any water in the cabin or any other issues like that.

I’m sorry to hear that your experience sounded much different than ours. Honestly, it almost sounds like you might be talking about the older ship as we shared similar issues in our Paradise Review.

Margaritaville at Sea has not paid us for any of our reviews (nor has any other cruise line). 😉 As stated at the start of the recent video, MAS invited us back in December to check out the ship six months after the inaugural on their dime which was awesome. However, they did not have input, nor did they preview or review any of the content shared. If you have any doubts about that, you can check out our first experience on board where we had an absolute amazing time.

Finally, we’ve sailed on a LOT of ships – both new and old. Like Islander, we share what we loved, what we didn’t love, and what we hated. A lot of people think just because a ship is old that it can’t compete with the newer ships, but check out our Carnival Conquest Full Review if you’d like to see another older ship we really appreciate. These older ships don’t have all the bells and whistles, but those don’t appeal to everyone which is why we try to give the full look of the ship in our reviews. That way, the viewer can determine what’s important to them and make the best informed decision when they book their next cruise.

Thanks for watching – and, truly, sorry to hear about your experience. Whatever line you choose, we hope the next one is amazing! Check out some of our other ship reviews if you get a chance and let us know if there are any that resonate. 🙂 -Mark
