One of the things we love about Virgin Voyages is the fact that there is no nickel-and-diming we see on other cruise lines. Want to go to a specialty restaurant? That’s all they have and they’re all included! Craving some soda? Yup, that’s included, too. Gratuities? No lines at guest services the last night of your cruise here: they’re included in your fare! wifi? Yup, that’s included… well, let’s take a look at some changes Virgin Voyages is making to their wifi tiers along with what’s included and where you’ll have to pay extra. Let’s take a look at Virgin Voyages Wifi – New Tiers and Pricing.

Virgin Voyages Wi-Fi Tiers
On January 20, 2025, Virgin Voyages officially launched new Wi-Fi tiers. Well, kind of new. The Classic Wi-Fi that’s always been included with your Virgin Voyages fare is still there. So no need to panic, wifi is still included – as long as you’re ok with not being able to stream, use VPN, etc.
The Premium Wi-Fi tier still exists as well. This tier costs $30/day and supports everything the Classic Tier supports. It also adds the ability to stream and make video calls. Notably, this tier also previously supported working from the ship (you VPN users know what I’m talking about!). Additionally, the Premium Tier used to support two devices, however, this was quietly changed last year. Now, you’ll pay $15/day for each additional device. Ouch.
Now, Virgin Voyages is introducing a new tier called Work From Sea Wi-Fi. This tier promises everything the Premium Tier offers while adding VPN access. Additionally, Virgin Voyages shares that this is the fastest internet on the ship. If this sounds a lot like the former Premium Wi-Fi tier, you’re not wrong. The difference? An extra $20 PER DEVICE PER DAY! That’s right, Virgin Voyages now charges $50 per day for their new top tier internet plans.
And if you’re planning to connect multiple devices on the new Work From Sea Wi-Fi? That’ll cost you an additional $50/device/day.
The below table breaks the three Wi-Fi Tiers down in detail:

Virgin Voyages Deep Blue Extras Wifi
As of today, Virgin Voyages still shows that Premium WiFi is included for top tier members of their loyalty program the Virgin Voyages Sailing Club. Those who qualify for Deep Blue Extras (sailed 5+ times, matched status, or some combination of the two) receive Premium WiFi. However, the Virgin Voyages Sailing Club website has other dated information on it as well, so we’ll be watching out to see if this changes.

Our Reaction and Thoughts
We love Virgin Voyages. You can see that across all of our social media channels and website. In our Virgin Voyages Full Review, we share how the cruise line is one of our new favorites due to their all-inclusive nature. However, if these changes are a preview of what to come with the line, we’re scared.
When the former CEO left his post and the new one came in, we heard rumblings that the Virgin Group was much less interested in the disruption the line was focused on and much more focused on turning a profit. Since then, we’ve stuck with them through a series of outrageous price increases. In our minds, the disruption Virgin Voyages brings to the cruise industry is worth it when you take into account the all-inclusive nature. But if we’re paying a premium for this product and start to feel nickel-and-dimed? Well, we can already feel that way on the other main lines and pay a lot less to do it.
Virgin Voyages set out to redefine the cruise industry. We really hope that these changes aren’t a sign that they’ve decided it’s better to fit in…
Note: Virgin Voyages is inconsistent with how they refer to wifi. We try to match their usage throughout the article, hence why you see wifi, WiFi, and Wi-Fi used.
