When the Carnival Jubilee was launched, there were a few things that were kept a secret about this new ship until just days before her inaugural sailing. Carnival Cruise Line slowly released more and more details about the various shows and entertainment.
With this being the first brand new ship with a homeport in Galveston, Carnival decided to go big: Texas Big! Not only does this ship boast a giant Texas Star on her bow, but there are Texas-themed surprises all over the place. Not to be overshadowed is the Lone Star Tailgate, a Texas-sized deck party that takes place across the ship’s Lido during the cruise. It will celebrate the spirit of Texas with a three-hour tailgate party that is divided into four quarters, similar to a football game. It’s going to included the energy of a country fairground and rodeo with games and giveaways for guests of all ages.

It’s the big game night and we are throwing a tailgate party for the whole family. The activities, from races and challenges to a party band celebrating Texas born musical artists, put a fresh take on our crowd-pleasing fun.”

1st Quarter

Time: 8:00pm – 8:45pm
2nd Quarter
Get ready for adrenaline-pumping action in Head-to-Head Sports at Lone Star Tailgate! Thrilling competitions, fierce rivalries, and victory vibes await. Game on, Lone Star style!
Time: 8:45pm – 9:30pm
3rd Quarter
Saddle up for a boot-stompin’ good time at the Country Fairground Throwdown at Lone Star Tailgate! Games, dancin’, and the good ol’ Texas charm!
Time: 9:30pm – 10:15pm
4th Quarter
Feel the Texas spirit come alive at Texan Tribute LIVE! at Lone Star Tailgate! Toe-tappin’ tunes, soulful melodies, and unforgettable performances inspired by Texan born artists.
Time: 10:15pm – 11:00pm
Now Carnival just needs to add Dr Pepper, Lone Star, and Sweet Tea to make this a REAL Texas experience! Is the Tailgate party on embarkation day or on one of the Sea Days?
I think there are still some kinks that they’re working out. Unless they are able to negotiate changes to their agreement, it won’t be easy for them to have Dr. Pepper on board as that’s not a PepsiCo brand. Hopefully they’re working on finding Sweet Tea through their current distributors. During the inaugural cruise, they opted to host the Tailgate party on the final sea day, as the ship was coming back to Galveston. We anticipate that this will change as the weather was too cold for the experience, so hopefully it gets changed to the second sea day.
